Terms of service
Last updated:
These terms explain how you may use Etases (اتأسس) - our website, web app, mobile apps and related services - and what you can expect from us. Etases is operated by Vlancy LTD. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Etases on behalf of a center or academy, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for that organisation.
Who we are
Etases is a product of Vlancy LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13988779, with its registered office at Office 2851, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London E6 2JA, United Kingdom, email [email protected]. For help with Etases, write to [email protected].
The service
Etases helps teachers, centers and academies run their teaching work. Depending on your plan, the service includes:
- Managing groups, schedules, students and parents.
- Attendance by QR code, grades, homework, exams and reports.
- Tracking fees that you collect yourself from students (offline payments).
- Selling recorded courses online, where Etases collects the payment and pays you your earnings.
- Notifications to students and parents.
We improve the service continuously, so features may change. We will tell you in advance about changes that materially reduce what your plan includes.
Nature of the service and our role
Etases is a technology platform and intermediary. It provides software that teachers, centers and academies (“Providers”) use to teach, sell courses and manage their students, and that students, parents and guardians (“Learners”) use to learn with them. Providers are independent: they are not employees, agents or partners of Etases, and Etases is not a party to the teaching relationship between a Provider and its Learners.
Courses, lessons, live classes, exams and materials are created and offered by Providers, not by Etases. Etases does not create, review in advance, endorse or guarantee any content, and makes no promise about the quality of teaching, the accuracy or completeness of materials, the qualifications of any Provider, or any result such as grades, exam success or employment.
Each Provider is solely responsible for its content and teaching, including: holding the rights and licences to what it publishes; the accuracy, legality and suitability of its content; its prices and the promises it makes to Learners; refunds of fees it collects directly from Learners; and complying with the laws of the country where it teaches and where its Learners live. Refunds for purchases paid through Etases follow our Refund Policy. Providers also accept the Teacher Agreement.
If you see content that breaks the law or these terms, report it to [email protected]. We may suspend, remove or delete any course or content as described in our Acceptable Use and Prohibited Content Policy and the Teacher Agreement.
Your account
You sign in with your mobile number. Keep your number and verification codes private; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may invite assistants and give them limited permissions. You are responsible for what your team does on your account.
Students, parents and minors
Many students on Etases are under 18. A teacher, center or academy that adds a student confirms that it has the right to do so and that the student or their parent or guardian has been informed.
A verified parent or guardian can see their own child’s schedule, attendance, grades, homework, exams and payments. A student under 18 cannot hide these records from a verified parent or guardian.
For students under 18, the parent or guardian’s consent and rights are set out in the Parental Consent Terms. Teachers, centers and academies also agree to the Teacher Agreement, which covers their content, sales, payouts and safeguarding duties.
Your content and data
You own the content you upload (lessons, videos, materials, exams) and your students’ records remain yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display that content only to provide the service to you and the people you choose.
You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it does not infringe anyone’s copyright or break the law. We may remove content that clearly violates these terms or the law, and we will tell you why.
You can export your data at any time. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
Content protection and leaks
Etases applies reasonable technical measures to protect paid content, such as protected streaming without download, a watermark with the viewer’s details, limits on the number of devices per account, and screen-capture limits where the device allows it. No system can fully prevent content from being copied, recorded or redistributed, and Etases does not guarantee that it will never happen.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Etases is not liable for any unauthorised copying, recording, sharing, leaking or theft of content by Learners, other users or third parties, or for any loss that results from it. Providers acknowledge this risk when they publish content on Etases.
Learners must not download, record, copy, share or resell any course or class without the Provider’s written permission. We may suspend or close the accounts of anyone who does. We cooperate with lawful takedown and infringement processes; send infringement notices to [email protected] as described in our Acceptable Use and Prohibited Content Policy.
Acceptable use and prohibited content
Our Acceptable Use and Prohibited Content Policy forms part of these terms. It lists the courses and content that must not be published on Etases, including content that infringes copyright (such as pirated courses), illegal, sexual or hateful content, content that endangers minors, scams and unlicensed financial advice, exam leaks and academic fraud, and content that is illegal in the Provider’s or the Learner’s country.
You also agree not to:
- Use Etases for anything illegal, harmful, misleading or abusive, including towards students.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is inappropriate for students.
- Send spam or messages students and parents did not expect.
- Try to access other users’ data, break our security, or overload the service.
- Copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service.
If you break these rules, we may remove content without notice, suspend or close accounts, withhold related payouts where the law and the Teacher Agreement allow, and report the matter to the competent authorities.
Plans and payments
Plans are billed monthly (or annually if agreed) and depend mainly on the number of active students each month. If you pass your plan’s student limit, the service continues and extra students are billed as shown in your plan.
Money you collect directly from your students for offline classes is yours; Etases takes no share of it.
For online course sales, Etases collects payments through payment providers, keeps the platform fee shown to you before you publish, and pays you the rest after the hold period. Details are in the refund policy and your plan.
If a subscription payment is overdue, we may limit your account to read-only after a grace period. We do not delete your data because of a late payment.
Disputes between Providers and Learners
Any disagreement between a Provider and a Learner, parent or guardian - for example about teaching quality, schedules, results, behaviour or fees paid outside Etases - is a matter between them. Etases may, at its discretion, try to help resolve it, but has no obligation to do so and is not responsible for the outcome. Refunds for purchases made through Etases are handled under our Refund Policy.
Cancellation and termination
You can cancel your subscription at any time; it stays active until the end of the paid period. See the refund policy for refunds.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. Where possible, we will warn you first and give you time to export your data.
Availability and support
We work to keep Etases available and secure, and we support you in Arabic through WhatsApp and email. The service may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control; we will try to announce planned maintenance in advance.
Third-party services
Etases relies on third-party services, such as payment providers, app stores, hosting and cloud providers, messaging services and meeting tools you choose to link. These services are governed by their own terms. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Etases is not responsible for their availability, errors, delays, fees or decisions, such as a payment provider holding a payment or an app store removing an app.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Etases is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not give any warranty, express or implied, that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure at all times, that it will meet your particular needs, or that any content on it is accurate or reliable, and we exclude all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Etases, Vlancy LTD and their directors, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, however caused.
- We are not liable for the content, teaching or conduct of Providers, Learners or other users, for what happens at in-person classes and centers, or for the unauthorised copying or sharing of content described above.
- Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to Etases is limited to the fees you paid to Etases in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or, if you paid no fees, to USD 100 (or the equivalent in your local currency). For Providers, any earnings we owe you are paid in addition to this limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer. Where the law does not allow a limitation in full, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Etases and Vlancy LTD, and their directors and employees, against any claims, losses, damages, fines and reasonable legal costs arising from: your content; your use of Etases; your breach of these terms, the Acceptable Use and Prohibited Content Policy or the law; or, for Providers, your teaching and your dealings with Learners, parents and guardians. This applies to the extent the claim is not caused by our own breach.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for any delay or failure to provide the service caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, unrest, government action, power or internet outages, cyber-attacks, or failures of third-party providers.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you use Etases as a consumer, you also keep any protection that the mandatory laws of the country where you live give you, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country where those laws allow it. We will first try to resolve any issue with you directly.
We may update these terms. We will notify you of important changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Etases after that date means you accept the updated terms.
