Parental consent terms
Last updated:
Many students on Etases are under 18. Their learning happens with their own teacher, center or academy, and their parent or guardian stays informed and in control. These terms explain, in plain language, what you agree to when your child uses Etases, and the rights you keep. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, and are provided by Vlancy LTD, the company that runs Etases.
Who these terms are for
These terms apply to parents and legal guardians of learners under 18 who use Etases. In these terms, “you” means the parent or guardian and “your child” means the learner.
You give consent on your child’s behalf when their account is created or when you link your account to it. Your child’s teacher, center or academy may ask for this consent when they register your child; they must not add a child without the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
If you are not the child’s parent or legal guardian, you may not give this consent.
What you agree to
By giving consent, you agree that your child may use Etases to learn with the teachers, centers and academies they are enrolled with, including:
- Attendance records, including scanning a QR code or a student ID card at the door or in a session.
- Grades, homework, exams and the teacher’s feedback.
- Live classes with video, audio and chat.
- Recorded courses that your child or you buy or that the teacher gives them access to.
- Class materials and messages from the teacher related to their lessons.
What data about your child we use, and why
- Your child’s name, student code, school year, groups and schedule - to organise their classes.
- Your mobile number as parent or guardian - to link you to your child and send you alerts.
- Attendance, grades, homework and exam answers - so the teacher can teach and you can follow progress.
- Payments and receipts - so fees and course purchases are clear to everyone.
- Messages and chat inside classes - to run the lesson and keep it safe.
We use this data only to provide the service. We do not use children’s data for advertising and we never sell it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we protect data, how long we keep it and which service providers help us, in line with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.
Who can see your child’s information
- Your child’s own teachers, centers and academies - and only for their own groups and courses.
- Assistants of those teachers, only within the permissions the teacher gives them.
- You, as the verified linked parent or guardian.
- Our support team, only when needed to help with an account or to keep someone safe; this access is logged.
A verified linked parent or guardian can always see their child’s attendance, grades, homework, exams and payments. A student under 18 cannot hide these records from you.
Live classes and safety
Students are expected to be respectful in class and in chat: no insults, bullying, sharing others’ personal details, or sharing class links and course videos with people outside the class.
Turning on the camera is optional unless the teacher needs it for a specific activity and allows students to keep it off otherwise. Teachers on Etases must follow our Teacher Agreement, which includes rules for keeping students safe and communicating with them appropriately.
If you are worried about anything that happened in a class or in a message, tell us at [email protected] or on our WhatsApp support line. Urgent safety concerns are reviewed first, and we may pause an account while we look into them.
Purchases by students under 18
Course purchases and online payments for a student under 18 must be made by you or with your approval. If you find a purchase you did not approve, contact us and we will review it.
Refunds follow our Refund Policy. Fees you pay a teacher or center in cash are between you and them; Etases only records them.
Alerts and notifications
Once linked, you may receive alerts about your child’s attendance (including late arrival or absence), new grades, homework, class reminders, schedule changes and payments.
You can choose which notifications you receive from your account settings. Some important messages - such as changes to these terms or safety notices - are always sent.
Linking and verifying your account
You link to your child using your mobile number, confirmed with a one-time code, and the link is approved by the teacher, center or academy or through a code they share with you. Once verified, you are shown as the child’s parent or guardian.
One parent account can be linked to several children. A child may have more than one linked parent or guardian.
If you believe someone else has linked themselves to your child, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove the link while we check.
Your rights
As parent or guardian, you can:
- See the data we hold about your child and get a copy.
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected.
- Ask for your child’s data to be exported or deleted.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
If you withdraw consent, your child’s account is deactivated or limited so it can no longer be used for new activity. Records that a teacher, center or academy must keep for legal or accounting reasons (such as payment records) may be kept for the period described in our Privacy Policy.
Send requests to [email protected], or ask your child’s teacher, center or academy. We may ask you to confirm that you are the parent or guardian.
When your child turns 18
When a learner turns 18, they manage their own account. From then on, a linked parent or guardian sees their records only if the learner chooses to keep the link.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date and notify linked parents in advance of important changes.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you use Etases as a consumer, you also keep any protection that the mandatory laws of the country where you live give you, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country where those laws allow it. We will first try to resolve any issue with you directly.
